This is Abhinav Gupta, working at Razorpay as Head of Infra (DevOps, SRE, InfoSec), prior to this I was working as Head of DevOps, SRE, InfoSec for blibli.com (an Indonesian E-Commerce company)/Coviam where I evangelised DevOps/SRE, lead the migration of Tech Infra from Datacenter to Google Cloud Platform along-with containerisation and many other Transformations. Before that I have headed DevOps and SRE at Olacabs and Capillary Technologies and worked with Inmobi, Yahoo! and Monster.com in the first phase of my career. I have 16 years of professional experience – all on DevOps/Systems and Tech Infra and am a *nix guy by heart right from my college days.
All startups start with zero DevOps and there is a realisation at one point in time that DevOps/SRE is needed to take the business to next level, I would like to talk about how to start DevOps from scratch, how to evangelise it in an organisation that has never seen DevOps/SRE, what’s SRE actually and how is it different from DevOps, listing down the points here:

One of the key ideas behind the DevOps movement, has been automation. Test automation philosophies abound with shifting left the automation (to development). Tools of today, are unfortunately, largely focused on the top of the pyramid, i.e. user tests.
How does one pragmatically, automate, across the spectrum – keeping in mind the nature of tests emphasized by the Testing Quadrants and move progressively towards improved automation as a lever in testing.
Adapting Tom Collins’ definitions of the Hedgehog & Fox – can we create an approach towards moving your automation strategy from Good To Great.

“Gosh, I want to reduce my cycle times. I want to do this DevOps thing. I want to move to that cloud cadence. My business isn’t keeping up.” If you feel the same join me to hear about the seven habits of effective DevOps. These have been learned on the ground with #Microsoft’s ongoing journey to #DevOps and how we have moved 100K+ Microsofties to DevOps. I will share with you thoughts from our journey and sub topics covered will be
Team Autonomy and Enterprise Alignment

Amit is a tech enthusiast and a strong believer in immutable systems. Amit has 7+ years of industry experience in distributed application development using Java. He dabbles with Python and loves learning new tech on the side. Currently, he spans across application infrastructure and delivery pipelines along with performance and functional changes. As part of his responsibility, he has led and migrated existing infrastructure to Kubernetes and handcrafted the provisioning scripts using Terraform and continuous delivery scripts that leverage KOPS.
Priyank is a Solution consultant at Sahaj. With 15 years of experience building large scale distributed systems, Priyank works across the stack. He is as comfortable with infrastructure as much as he is with functional development. Priyank is a proponent of experimentation and incremental improvements. He spends time thinking about alternate architecture patterns and technology choices. On the side, Priyank dabbles in operational roles part-time to expand his skills repertoire but stays close to code on day to day basis.
This talk dives deeper into the learnings that we acquired while migrating a platform containing prolific services built to run on the bare-metal set-up to run on containers using Kubernetes. We will talk about a strangulation pattern in infrastructure migration which allows hybrid infrastructure to coexist and transition completely to a modern way of running the services without a drastic shift-over. Our base cloud platform is AWS and we run in a cloud-agnostic manner to promote a lift and shift approach to our infrastructure. Our move to containers has kept the philosophy intact. The talk is being co-presented by people who drove the shift and were involved in day to day tactical changes.
Assistant Vice President – Digital, Genpact

There are a lot of framework in the industry, to scale Agile – Devops in enterprises – like SAFe, LeSS, Spotify, Scrum Of Scrums.
In this talk I will bring about basic steps any organization could take to take their organization on the path of agility to enhance their business.
The talk will be based on concepts I have put together in my book – Enterprises Scaling & Sustaining Agile available in amazon
Take away for participants – Participants can take away basic steps they need to imbibe in their organization or even personally when they embark on Scaling Agile using any framework SAFe, LeSS etc or do it agnostically
I’m a Software engineering manager with over 10 years of experience, technology lover and a lifelong learner. I have a passion for leading teams with an agile approach and designing simple, elegant solutions with the proper choice of technologies. I work for Atlassian as an Engineering Manager for Jira Service Desk and our mission is to unleash the potential in every team.
Atlassian wasn’t born as a cloud native company. The opposite: we were a “behind the firewall” company. We had to transform fundamentally how we build, deliver and operate our software, and one of the key practices that enabled us to become obsessed about operational excellence is TechOps. If you’ve never heard about it, this is a team practice to iteratively reach higher and higher levels of operational maturity. For the companies working their way through becoming cloud native and providing a world-class online experience, this talk will provide them the methods to implement a practice like TechOps which will drastically help them achieving that goal.
Serverless technologies are touted as the 2nd wave of cloud tech. Being able to worry about just running your code and not to worry about servers is something every developer would love to do. Is it really that simple? Is there more to it? in this talk, lets discuss about what Serverless, Fargate and EKS are? How it impacts your developers? How it impacts your business and how you deep dive into them?

Businesses today rely on data and applications to interface with customers and partners. There’s been tremendous growth in the number of web and mobile applications that businesses have to support, along with an increasing frequency of releases and complexity of code as developers try to meet the demand by utilizing open source and commercial code in addition to custom code.
In recent Application Security Research Update, we saw a 30X deployments of apps over last year, and the apps are getting more complex with 83% of them utilizing open source components in addition to custom code and COTS.
To keep up with the increasing demand, many businesses are adopting DevOps as the preferred approach for rapid development and continuous delivery of applications. DevOps offers IT organizations improved speed of development by embracing a collaborative approach between development and operations. However, in most cases, security has been an afterthought to DevOps.
While 99% of development organizations believe that DevOps is an opportunity to improve application security, only 20% actually perform application security during the development according to a recent survey.
As a result, 80% of applications today contain at least one critical or high vulnerability. It’s no surprise that the Department of Homeland Security found that 90% of security incidents are from exploits against defects in the design or code of software. Development teams growing at an 80:1 ratio to the security teams. Security teams aren’t able to keep up.
DevSecOps is the answer to integrating these challenges into a coherent and effective approach to software delivery.
Integrated framework to fix vulnerabilities faster and accelerate a mature DevOps program

An active participant of NULL – India’s largest open security community as a core team member responsible for technology platform.
As an open source software contributor, he has developed or contributed to multiple security projects which are available in his Github:
We are in an age when there are just too many attacker tools, techniques, and procedures (TTP). It is pointless to build automation that follows a fixed workflow - a fixed way or order of doing things, which may work for one but will not fit into the requirement of others. This talk is about building security workflow automation in a distributed environment using opensource security tools and services, packaged as Docker containers and running on Kubernetes as the underlying platform for enabling automation.
The key takeaways for the talk are
This talk will take the audience through the internals of KubeSeco, the open-source implementation of this project, particularly on how to integrate new security tools and build custom workflows running in the Kubernetes cluster.
